Thomas O'Hagan

Thomas V. O’Hagan, MD, MEd has joined the staff at Great Lakes Orthopaedic Center (GLOC) and brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in orthopaedic sports medicine and surgery. Along with Rotator cuff surgery and ACL reconstruction, Dr. O’Hagan specializes in a wide range of other arthroscopic surgeries of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee in both the adult and pediatric patient.

After graduating from medical school at New York Medical College (Valhalla, NY), Dr. O’Hagan completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Chicago (Chicago, IL) and further specialized in sports medicine with a fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Rothman Institute (Philadelphia, PA). During this time, he worked as a team physician with the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Flyers sports teams.

Dr. O’Hagan has authored several works on sports medicine topics and is currently involved in sports injury research. Having played baseball at the University of Notre Dame, he understands the importance of getting injured athletes back to the playing field as quickly, and safely, as possible. “I am thrilled to be joining an elite group of top orthopaedic surgeons and specialists at Great Lakes Orthopaedic Center,” says Dr. O’Hagan. “With my background in orthopaedic sports medicine and my personal experience as an athlete, I look forward to helping treat those in the community who are trying to get back to the activities they love in Northern Michigan.”
